Our design philosophy
Accessible. Direct. Did you go to pay your bill today or access your corporate intranet for some information, only to be confronted by a whirling carousel of icons? Was the content you were interested in lost in a collage of inspirational images? Did you visit a web site on your phone, only to then check it later on your laptop to find images had exploded to fill your entire screen, making the site unusable?
You are not the first. Our designs aren't a reflection of a lack of technological prowess, we've used numerous tools over the decades—but we don't use them just because we can.
Our designs embody our mission: directness in conveying and accessing pertinent information, tastefully presented without overbearing bells and whistles that don't add value or demonstrate your competence.
Sincere. Honest. Qualities often lost in the rush to generate market hype. When everyone has the same slick message, how do you communicate you're not just another “pretender?”
Our commitment to you, our client, is:
- To get to know you. We spend the time to understand you, your voyage, your destination.
- To experience you. Sampling your products and services. Attending a fund-raiser or other event if you are an organization. Reviewing your current and past marketing or communications materials. We maximize the impact of your message when we can compose your content with the perspective and clarity that comes from getting to know your company or organization: your people, your message, your point of view. When that's not possible owing to distance, we familiarize ourselves with you before our first virtual "sit-down" to insure a constructive interchange about your goals.
- To capture and reflect your uniqueness and individuality. We insure the pictures, graphics, copy, and style of the web site or materials we create for you reflect you, your company and employees, your organization and members. To build a web site that looks and feels like you. Clipart, skins, and templates are placeholders and shortcuts—not products.
- In short, to meet your needs and objectives in understanding, formulating and communicating your message.
We have decades of experience building sites, starting with HTML, moving on to Dreamweaver when that was cutting edge, then to building our PHP content manager—tired of tools which broke across “major releases.” Moving forward, we integrated social media such as Facebook, and, most recently, HTML5-based multimedia—we started out on small VGA screens, grew to large screens, and now back to tablets, smart phones, and “internet everywhere.” We test all our sites on multiple browsers across smartphones, tablets, and laptops/desktops.
The profliferation of ways to view web sites is the greatest threat to older sites falling into disuse. If you have an existing site which has gone stale over the years and likely doesn't work on smart phones, we specialize in refreshes which insure your site works equally well and looks equally “native” to a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop.
